Pro pessoal que tem placa de vídeo ATI!!!

Catalyst 5.6 deverá trazer mais performance!!!
Geralmente os drivers de vídeo da ATi trazem correção de bugs e quase imperceptíveis ganhos de performance. Desta vez, a ATi diz que irá trazer aumento de performance como principal mudança do seu driver. Segundo a empresa, está sendo verificado até 50% de melhora no desempenho de alguns jogos como Chronicles of Riddick e Lock on: Modern Air. Até Doom3 está previsto ganhar um gás a mais, na casa dos 20%. O novo driver deverá estar público em breve, seguindo a política de drivers da empresa, que os libera em meados do dia 20 de cada mês. É aguardar pra confirmar. |

Ó! Existem drivers específicos que servem para rodar Doom 3 e jogos OpenGL, dão um aumento na performance... mas não é coisa muito significativa não...! Não sonhem com mil maravilhas! |

Pode até ter um ganho mas imaginem o que é 50%. Eu acho praticamente impossível um ganho desses.

que pode melhorar pode sim...
existe mtas optimizações q podem ser feitas atravez de drivers... acima de 15% é quase um sonho (ao meu ver). Mas 10% pode ser possivel, apesar de improvavel. |

5% é a melhora "GERAL" que pode dar em um GRANDE avanço na aplicação de um driver na arquitetura da placa!

Tá... então quer dizer que se eu tenho um jogo que roda a digamos 30fps... se ele tiver um aumento de 5% ele rodará a 31,5fps... isso é quase nada...

mas veja pelo lado positivo, se vc rodar a 100 fps vai aumentar 5.

Saiu o catalyst 5.6... já esta disponivel o download no site da ATI.
Bom... eu tenho uma Radeon 9600 pro 256mb e vou realizar o seguinte teste, vou usar o jogo Doom 3 (que falaram que terá um aumento de 20% na perfomace), antes de instalar este drive... entrarei no jogo em uma sala qualquer com o display do FPS ligado e tirarei uma foto, depois instalarei o novo drive, entrarei no jogo na mesma sala e tirarei outra foto para ver se teve algum aumento de perfomace... provavelmente vou fazer isso a noite, dae coloco as fotos aqui pra vcs. |

Aqui diz que a performance não mudou nada em relação ao 5.5. Faz tempo que não atualizo, se eu instalar esse novo, com certeza irei ter alguns ganhos... por isso nem vou tomar por base os resultados aqui... |

Realizei o teste... Doom 3... tirei 3 fotos dos mesmos locais de uma mesma sala...
Foto 01 Drive versão 5.4 Foto 01 Drive versão 5.6 Foto 02 Drive versão 5.4 Foto 02 Drive versão 5.6 Foto 03 Drive versão 5.4 Foto 03 Drive versão 5.6 Bom... o FPS no Doom 3 varia muito, se vc estiver mais proximo da parede o fps aumenta e tal mas procurei tirar as fotos nos mesmos lugares, mas a versão 5.6 perdeu em todas as fotos... COMÉDIA!!! Puts... terei que procurar o cd do drive antigo... |

Cyber Jack o ideal era vc rodar o timedemo e ver quantos FPS fez em cada.
Se me lembro bem é timedemo 1 no console e depois demo 001. Algo assim. E lembre-se de medir sempre na segunda vez que roda o demo pois na primeira ele da umas travadas de ram. |

Quando eu chegar em casa eu faço um resumo desse driver.
Falta testar um jogo ainda, que é o Battlefield 1942 e o mod Desert Combat. |

A versão atual instalada na minha máquina é o Catalyst 5.5 (release date: 02-06-2005), que seria a última e estável versão deste driver, que me deu bastante confiança e qualidade durante o uso em jogos como Doom 3 e Half Life 2, os mais pesados. Hardware Videoboard: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro - 128Mb Motherboard: Abit AN7 Hardrive: Seagate Barracuda 80Gb SATA Soundboard: Creative Labs Audigy 2 Cooling: Aero 7 Plus e ventilador ARNO C-45 Memória: DDR333 512Mb single channel SOFTWARE Windows XP Professional - Service Pack 2 blunded .Net Framework Half Life 2 - Updated Natural Selection FuhQuake As configurações da videoboard seguem abaixo. Para quem gosta de ler, segue todas: CONFIGURAÇÕES OPENGL -> Smoothvision 2.1 Anti-aliasing: 6x Anti-aliasing tempora: ativado Filtragem Anisotrópica: 16x -> Preferência de textura: Alta qualidade -> Nível de detalhe do Mipmap: Alta Qualidade -> Aguardar pelo sinal vertical: off -> TRUFORM: Preferência do aplicativo -> SMARTSHADER: off (buga no Quake 1 e Half Life 1) -> Smartgart: 8x TESTE GERAIS FuhQuake Parâmetros: fuhquake-gl.exe -width 1024 -height 768 +set gl_smoothfont 1 -conwidth 400 -conheight 300. Tem um CFG mas coloca que "tudo foi ativado" + suporte a PNG para ambiente das fases. Antes -> 72FPS estáveis Depois -> 72FPS estáveis Natural Selection Sem parâmetros Antes -> 40 a 60 fps estáveis Depois -> 45 a 65 fps estáveis Half Life 2 Antes -> 20 a 40 fps em lugares abertos, 40 a 60 em lugares fechados Depois -> 25 a 45 fps em lugares abertos, 40 a 60 em lugares fechados ----> ficou mais estável Fotos e vídeos de mulher pelada Antes -> Como todo mundo Depois -> Os recursos de smartshader fez com que houvesse uma melhor definição em regiões aonde a luz não toca. Notado um rejuvencimento em "milfs" com os recursos de AA Anisotropic ativados ao máximo, fazendo com que elas ficassem mais gostosas Em geral, eu notei uma maior estabilidade no driver do que nunca. A mudança foi tão significativa quando aquela atualização da ATI para um driver específico para DooM 3. |
