[RIP] Mais uma lenda se cala... Paul Newman morre aos 83 anos

O ator norte-americano Paul Newman, de 83 anos, faleceu na sexta-feira nos Estados Unidos noticiou neste sábado (27) o jornal 'The Oregonian' e a agência de notícias Associated Press. O ator lutava contra um câncer de pulmão.

Na primeira semana de agosto, o jornal “The Daily Mail” divulgou que Newman teria poucas semanas de vida e pediu aos seus familiares para deixar o hospital e morrer em casa. O jornal citava como fonte um “amigo da família".

Newman tinha três filhas com Joanne Woodward, com quem foi casado por 40 anos, e outras duas de seu primeiro casamento com Jackie White. Há um mês, a imprensa noticiou que o ator teria pedido para sua filha mais velha, Nell, cuidar dos negócios da família.

Newman anunciou há pouco mais de um ano que estava se aposentando da carreira devido à sua idade. Ele atuou em cerca de 60 filmes. Ao todo, recebeu nove indicações ao Oscar, mas só levou a estatueta de melhor ator em 1986, pelo filme "A cor do dinheiro", no qual fez o mesmo papel pelo qual foi indicado ao prêmio em 1961, no filme "Desafio à corrupção".

Newman também dirigiu carros de corrida e criou uma linha de produtos alimentícios, a "Newman's Own", que tem seu nome e seu rosto nos rótulos - os lucros são integralmente doados para a caridade.

Que foda, um puta artista. Virei fã dele depois de assistir Hud (O Indomado, 1963), que para mim é seu melhor filme. Sua atuação neste é extraordinaria.

Hud Bannon realmente é marcante, mas Henry Gondorff (Golpe de Mestre) é o meu favorito. Dou muita risada com ele nesse filme, aquela cena que ele se faz de bêbado pra irritar o Doyle Lonnegan, "That'd be real nice of you, Mr. Lonniman!" eahue eu racho o bico. Ele ainda fez o Mr. Mussburger noutro filme que eu adoro, The Hudsucker Proxy.
